Project Description: The "Evaluation of a Professional Development Program in Classroom Assessment" is a component of the federally funded project Teacher Quality Research: Investigating the EFficacy of a Professional Development Program in Classroom Assessment for Middle School Reading and Mathematics (TQR). The TQR project seeks to examine methods for effectively implementing standardized video-based professional development modules focused on classroom assessment in mathematics and reading. The Office of Program Evaluation (OPE) at the University of South Carolain (USC) was contracted by the Office of Assessment from the South Carolina Department of Education (SDE) to evaluate the (a) fidelity of implementation of the TQR professional development training modules and the (b) effects of the TQR professional development training on South Carolina teachers' beliefs, expectations, and values regarding state curriculum standards and classroom assessment.
